Welcome to kindergarten! I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year.  My career began in 1996 when I graduated from CSU Stanislaus and immediately began substitute teaching.  After obtaining my credential from Chapman University, I taught kindergarten five years in the Central Valley.  This was the beginning of the movement towards State Standards and was a very exciting time to become an educational professional.  It was during this time that I developed a deep love for the teaching and learning of reading, writing, and math.  I moved to Livermore to be with my husband, and came to Byron USD in 2003.  Initially, I taught first grade and kindergarten at Timber Point. Then, I was offered a position as the English Language Development Specialist at Discovery Bay School.  I worked in this position for several years, but never lost my passion for your learners.  After several years, I made the decision to follow my heart and return to the classroom as a kindergarten teacher.  I love working at Discovery Bay School with such talented teachers and wonderful students.   I look forward to a wonderful school year!
